SAN DIEGO, CA – In a rare season, The Basketball League (TBL), scheduled little commingling amongst the conferences due to the unknown surrounding COVID. However, that did not stop some of its franchises from requesting travel outside of their neighboring states.
The Kokomo BobKats of Kokomo, IN, finish their West Conference trip facing the no. 1 ranked San Diego Guardians (9-4).
What makes this matchup more sentimental for the 2 first year TBL teams, is that BobKats’ Head Coach, Cliff Levingston is a native San Diegan. Levingston was a stand-out at Samuel F. Morse High School and in the early 80s confirmed he was destined for greatness at Wichita State. He went on to be selected 9th overall in the 1st Round of the 1982 NBA Draft.
Having coached for the last 2 decades, the 1st year Indiana team brought What Time is it? Game Time! moniker to their small town to draw a fanbase so great, they have had small sections in their 2-1 run along the Pacific.
The San Diego Guardians host Levingston’s BobKats Thursday, June 3rd at Victory Christian Academy 810 Buena Vista Way Chula Vista, CA 91910. The two playoff bound teams will tip-off at 7:30pm PST.
Post-game, Coach Levingston will be available for questions and commentary. No RSVP is needed.
