Great Falls Electric Standout Continues His Professional Journey on the International Stage

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — There are few things more rewarding for The Basketball League than watching our players continue to live their dreams—and Deon Lyle is doing exactly that.

The Basketball League is proud to celebrate Great Falls Electric standout and MVP Deon Lyle as he takes the next step in an already impressive professional basketball journey, heading overseas to continue his career in Saudi Arabia.

For Lyle, playing internationally isn’t new. But every new country, every new contract and every new opportunity represents another chapter in a career built on talent, perseverance, hard work and the determination to keep moving forward.

And what a journey it has been.

FROM NEBRASKA TO DIVISION I BASKETBALL

A native of Hastings, Nebraska, Lyle’s basketball journey eventually took him to Cloud County Community College, where he developed into a First Team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference selection and Second Team NJCAA All-Region VI honoree.

From there came an opportunity to compete at the NCAA Division I level with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).

Lyle made the most of it.

During the 2017-18 season, he averaged 11.3 points per game, connected on 96 three-pointers—tying UTSA’s single-season record at the time—and was named Conference USA Sixth Man of the Year.

It was an early indication of something basketball fans would continue to see throughout his professional career:

Deon Lyle can score the basketball.

BUILDING A PROFESSIONAL CAREER AROUND THE WORLD

After college, Lyle turned professional and began building a résumé that has already taken him around the globe.

His professional journey has included basketball in Armenia, Mexico and Cameroon, along with extensive experience in The Basketball League.

Lyle has suited up for multiple TBL organizations during his career, including the Albany Patroons, Enid Outlaws, Potawatomi Fire, Frederick Flying Cows, San Antonio Clutch and Great Falls Electric.

Along the way, he became something even more important:

A champion.

Lyle has been part of TBL championship basketball and has developed a reputation as a dangerous perimeter scorer who can stretch defenses with his shooting while competing on both ends of the floor.

During his 2022 season with the Potawatomi Fire, Lyle averaged 16.9 points per game, made 79 three-pointers and scored 20 or more points 11 times.

ELECTRIC IN GREAT FALLS

Then came another chapter—Great Falls, Montana.

And Lyle was exactly what his team’s name promised:

Electric.

The 6’6″ shooting guard quickly established himself as a major offensive weapon for the Great Falls Electric.

During the 2026 season, local coverage identified Lyle as the Electric’s leading scorer, and some of his individual performances demonstrated just how explosive he could be.

Against the Mesquite Desert Dogs, Lyle delivered a spectacular all-around performance:

41 points.
10 rebounds.
9 assists.
4 steals.

Just weeks later against the Tri-Cities Sun Devils, he nearly did it again, exploding for:

39 points.
8 rebounds.
9 assists.

Those aren’t simply scoring numbers.

They demonstrate a player capable of impacting virtually every area of a basketball game.

And performances like those helped prepare Lyle for the opportunity that comes next.

SAUDI ARABIA IS CALLING

Now, another part of the world gets an opportunity to see what TBL fans already know.

Deon Lyle can play.

His move to Saudi Arabia represents another significant step in a professional journey that has already crossed borders and continents.

It also represents something The Basketball League is extremely proud to celebrate.

TBL was created to be more than a destination.

It is also a platform.

A platform where professional players can compete.

A platform where players can be seen.

A platform where careers can continue to develop.

And a platform from which the next opportunity can come from virtually anywhere in the world.

THIS IS WHAT THE JOURNEY LOOKS LIKE

There isn’t one road to success in professional basketball.

Sometimes the journey takes you from Nebraska to Kansas.

From junior college to NCAA Division I basketball.

From UTSA to professional basketball.

From the United States to Armenia.

From Mexico to Cameroon.

From one TBL city to another.

From Great Falls, Montana…

all the way to Saudi Arabia.

That’s the beauty of the journey.

For every young player wondering whether there is another opportunity ahead, Deon Lyle’s career provides an important reminder:

Keep working. Keep competing. Keep producing. And be ready when your next opportunity comes.

TBL TO THE WORLD

At The Basketball League, we love seeing our guys living their dreams and playing the game they love around the world.

Every international signing is a victory for the player, his family, his teammates, coaches and everyone who has been part of the journey.

It is also another example of what can happen when talented players have a professional platform on which to perform.

Today, we celebrate Deon Lyle.

A scorer.

A champion.

An MVP.

A professional.

And now, a TBL player continuing his journey on another international stage.

Great Falls to Saudi Arabia

Another opportunity earned.

Another country added to the journey.

Another dream being lived.

CONGRATULATIONS, DEON!

The Basketball League and the entire TBL family congratulate Deon Lyle as he takes his talents to Saudi Arabia.

Keep shooting. Keep competing. Keep representing.

The world is watching.

TBL TO THE WORLD.
