TBL President David Magley and Tri-City Team TMO Dustin Caissie to discuss the future of professional basketball in Greater Moncton at a press conference on September 28th

Professional men’s basketball is returning to Greater Moncton.

David Magley, President of The Basketball League, will host a media availability on Saturday, September 28 to discuss the future of professional basketball in Greater Moncton (The Tri-City) along with TMO of the Tri-City team Dustin Caissie.

A press conference is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:30 AM at St. Louis bar and grill located at 1405 Mountain Road, Moncton NB.

Media availability for questions and answers will be made available directly after the press conference.

The Basketball League is entering its seventh successful season with 44 teams across North America.

All 44 teams are managed with local ownership. League play will begin in March.

Moncton’s team will operate in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division. The Port City Power of Saint John and Halifax Hoopers are also in the division, and more franchises may be added in the near future.

Before creating The Basketball League, Magley served as commissioner of the former National Basketball League of Canada, which included the Moncton Miracles and Moncton Magic.

Dustin Caissie is a local business owner, who owns 2 furniture stores(maritimefurniture.ca and liquidationguys.ca) and practices law in the area at his own law firm, Optimum Law (optimumlaw.ca) located in Riverview, New Brunswick.

He is also a former assistant coach for the Crandall Charges men basketball team and worked for the Moncton Miracles during the inaugural season.
